Hunting
Loon Point Resort is located in the heart of some of the best grouse habitat in the country. Over 60% of the land in Itasca County is either Federal, State, County or industrial forest that is open to the public for hunting. While we do not allow pets during spring, summer and early September; we allow dogs starting in the fall with the grouse season opening as well as in the winter. Please call or email for prior approval for bringing a dog. Please do not leave your dog unattended in the cabin unless it is in a kennel.
White tail deer hunters also enjoy the vast public lands that are available. Some hunters arrange to hunt on leased land. Whatever your preference, you will find that the area provides great deer hunting opportunities.
