I love summer.  I love the warmth.  I enjoy watching the kids play in the water and jump on the water trampoline.  The families and friends gather around the campfire while roasting marshmallows.  The fish house is full of the fishermen telling their stories and exaggerating the size of the fish that got away.  This is summer at a northern Minnesota resort.  Labor Day generally marks the end of summer.  Kids are going back to school.  School sports have been in play for several weeks.  It’s often the last opportunity for families to head for the lake for the weekend.

It’s also the beginning of fall.  Fall is our favorite season in northern Minnesota.  The loons are still here and calling.  The blue jays are squawking. The lake is particularly quiet and peaceful.  It’s a great time for hiking the numerous trails we have on and near Loon Point Resort, biking, the Mesabi Bike Trail isn’t too far, and fall fishing on Wasson Lake or the other thousand lakes of Itasca County.  Fall is also perfect for just relaxing. So we hope you’ll join us for a Minnesota fall vacation this year.  In fall we can be flexible on your arrival and departure days.  You can stay just two nights or a full week. Call us at Loon Point Resort soon (1-800-542-1470) to plan your fall getaway at our Minnesota family resort!
