Snowmobiling
Itasca County has over 600 miles of groomed snowmobile trails – some of the best snowmobiling in Minnesota. Local snowmobile clubs and the Department of Natural Resources developed the trails and maintain them. In the northeast part of Itasca County, where Loon Point Resort is located, you will find some of the most scenic trails, best maintained, and least heavily traveled. If you like to avoid the crowds, you'll enjoy making Loon Point Resort your home base. You'll be able to access the trails directly from your cabin. From there, you can head in any direction and have miles of trails practically to yourself.
Gas and restaurants are nearby and accessible by both highway and snowmobile trail. If you don't have a snowmobile of your own and would like to rent, contact Rapids Rental in Grand Rapids. You can either pick up a rental sled there – or ask them to deliver it right to the resort! Call 800-542-0036 for more information on renting.
Come back after a day on the trails and enjoy your comfortable cabin. Cozy up in front of the fireplace. Slip in a DVD if you like. Play cards or a board game with your friends. Stop in at the lodge for a game of pool or foosball.
